Have I any chance of passing the NCT with this tint?

I'm due my NCT next week. I've read the many threads here on the new rules regarding window tinting. However the tint on my car is not as dark as many cars. I mean, you can see and the passenger through the front windows, albeit obviously not quite as clearly as if there was no tint.
I have attached a photo. Can anyone advise whether I should just remove it now, or would it be worth taking a chance on the day? If it has to go I don't really care but obviously would rather that it didn't...due to the hassle of removing it etc.

    Many thanks.

Doubt it.. I had lighter ones on a previous car of mine and they failed (by a few %)

No harm putting it through anyway. If it fails on the tints it will only be a visual and won't cost you anything to get it retested as such

Would I not have to pay the re-test fee?

Most tint guys will remove and refit tint now for about 50 quid

I would leave it on and put it through the test anyway.

If it fails then just remove the front passenger tint.

The retest will only be a visual inspection therefore no retest fee.

In my opinion That is not very strong tint.

yes, do a search as ive posted pics of my old Audi S3 with rear tints and it would of failed if they were on the fronts.

pretty much any tint fitted before the new rule came into effect is too dark according to the NCT guidelines.

no harm putting it through though.

    100% FAIL

My tint was like that and it failed terribly at 38%. I though I was safe with a 35% tint, but as the car had a natural tint of 25-30%, total = 65%, which is 35% opacity (100% minus the tint's %).

The tester measured it with NO tint and the meter read 75% opacity (= 25% tint) and passed

It is up to the tester as to whether to test the tints (or at least it was) so you could get lucky and get someone who will not test them but if they do they will fail.

Does the test look at the front windows only or is it rear aswell?

    http://www.ncts.ie/pdf/nctmanual.pdf

    PDF page 10
Glass in front side windows has a visible light
transmission level of less than 65%.
