Acer Aspire one pro - no boot from USB

    Hi Guys,

    have one of the above laptops.
    I created an ubuntu boot USB so I could try it out on it.
    I cannot boot from USB, the bootloader begins but then hangs forever.
    I have tried the USB in other machines and it works fine.
    I have tried both moving the USB device to the top of the boot menu and also from the boot menu
    From my Googling it seems a bios upgrade may solve this issue,
    Has anyone ever done this or found another way around this

    AS it turns out it was the USB key
    Hateful thing would only boot a desktop machine and not laptops, my own fault for not verifying the thumb drive first
