Looking for information on rent allowance

    I have just been told that i am entitled to rent allowance as i am out of work and living on my own in a rent house.

    My rent is €407 a month witch is the max rent in my area for a single person
    but what i want to know is how much will i get off my rent

    It depends on your means and your officer. If you're on the dole and €407 is the max for a single person in your area you'll probably get the full €407. It is means tested though so really the only way to know is after your interview with the officer.

    If you satisfy all the conditions for rent supplement, you'll need to contribute a minimum of €26 per week to your rent from your JA.
