I'm trying to find out who pays for the extra expenses of a recount, if it is requested. Can anyone help me on this?

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames will not pay for the recount she called in Galway West, we will.

The expense of a recount is relatively small. There is a fixed sum paid to the counting staff irrespective of how many recounts there are. Longer use of the venue and security are the only costs. A recount is a basic right of a candidate which ensures fair play.
