I am working full time off the farm and im sure im not alone. I have a good suckler heard finnishing cattle to factory which was established by my father who is getting on in years. My problem is combining the two. I feel the system at the moment is only going to end in disaster. the set up consists of 30 year old cubicle sheds which are fine if I had time to be walking up and down them checking for calving cows at all hours, and then cleaning them out dalily. I like the ida of cows calving in june july, but with a bull running with the heard is it possible?. should i be considering a slatted shed? or is there other ways of skinning this cat?

we have our sucklers in a cubicle shed , we have scrapers in it , while we are full time farmers ,the scrapers take alot of the donkey work out of it. This was a dairy set up previously, take a look and see what it would cost to get them in . We have 2 runs with slats at the end and an easi feed system there too. we have 20 cows , creep feeder etc in there aswell
