    Saw this at the Galway Film Fleadh last year and liked it at the time (it was refreshing amongst all the depressing stories a lot of shorts tend to deal with, especially student ones) It didn't hold up on second viewing though:

    Like last time, I thought the kid was awful. I know he was the son of the director, but I'm pretty sure the director could have found someone better.

    The cinematography left a lot to be desired, especially the scene in the kitchen where the family are eating dinner.

    A lot of the dialouge seemed strained, but that could have been the acting too.

    The art design was fairly lazy I thought.

    All in all, a nice short, especially when it was completely independant; but I have know idea how it got an oscar nomination.
