Independent, professionally made reports on positive aspects of Ireland don't mean anything to the average "omg irelands gay nama lol yore ma" boardsie. Be prepared for the usual FF, NAMA, no future, emigration, situation will never get better comments etc.

According to The Economist, 'Ireland is far from a basket case and our economic future looks bright and the country is engulfed by excessive pessimism'...

Here's the link.. Yes, it was in the Indo, but the report is independent...

Would be great if more of these reports came out - from independent sources, who are merely trying to be 'objective' in their findings.
Totally agree. Far too pessimistic. The real problem is its the younger generation (who we need to get the country moving again)who have never known hardship who are being pessimistic.

Yes, sometimes it's easier to moan and point to the usual elements splashed across the news - but perhaps, just perhaps, by paying attention to the positives, there could be a focus on the important tasks at hand instilling more optimism.

And what a shame that is -
    Talented - Yes
    Educated - Yes
    Politically aware - Yes
Optimistic and hopeful - Not so much....

Well in fairness to the younger generation it's hard to be optimistic when all the older generation do is complain about how ****ed the younger generation are.

Unfortunately I tried finding it (all over the net) and couldn't locate it - but will be looking out for it in their next print issue.

This post has links to the articles. Unfortunately the banks and the financial system are the greatest threat to the country.

P.S. Thanks for letting me know.

Not really a need for a merge, under the circumstances.
