    Just wondering.....

What farming related publications (newpapers, mags, books etc) do you read (if any)?

    How often would read them?

    Do you find them helpful/infornative?

    What's your favourite? ;)

I buy the journal and Indo every week and find that they are good reading. But you have to take their advice and articles at your own discression. Sometimes they are bias or based on unachievable trials but generally its inspiring to see what other farmers are doing and achieving.

Often buy the UK farm and plant trader to look at machines. Never buy anything but its interesting to see the price comparisons.

I buy IFJ nearly every week,
farmers weekly(yellow peril) about once a month
used to buy classic tractor, but I think it is over priced for the amount of ads in it:mad:, so I haven't bought it the last twelve months.

I think farmers weekly is the fav, mainly because it's interesting to look at farming from a different angle.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

I get the IFJ every week
Read Farming Independent supplement on a Tuesday
Love my mags too (although YES they are very pricey. I'd have a sneaky flick through them in shop beofre I'd decide which one to buy, based on how relevant the articles are.
    Classic Tractor
    Irish Tractor and Machinery
    Profi tractor and machinery

Like the mags cos I'm interested in tractor/machinery restoration and you get a look at alot of engllish machines

Got out of buying Buy and Sell. Liked to see prices of machinery etc Buy farm and plant mag now occasionally

Get the journal in the post
    Independent on Tuesday
    Dairy farmer monthly
Farmers weekly (is it the English one??)
Farmers monthly to I think it's called to
Classic tractor on occasion depending on articles
Dairy exporter is the only one i get here

Think that's all, dad would pick up the odd one here and there to. Not 100% sure on the names as can't exactly put any to hand!

    Get the journal every week.

Have a classic tractor subscription, but last month's never turned up, they said they'd resend but no sign, and now this month's is in the shops too :(

I pick up Practical Farm Ideas once in a while too, an odd magazine but interesting at times.

I notice the FINDO has gone down the road of unashamed product placement in some if its articles.

Ann Fitzgearld's piece on Keenans this week was nothing short of disgraceful and brings the paper to a low.

The standard of opinion has been poor in the last few years with many false and misleading opinion pieces. To mention 2, butterfat readjustment and that Irish co-ops refused to lock in milk at 39c/litre
