Out of curiosity how many people here based thier vote on a conversation or experience with a canvasser? It would be interesting to get an idea of what kind of difference all of the legwork makes and does having a bigger team that covers more ground give much of an advantage.

I wasn't canvased once - I didn't even get post from any of them.. guess that shows how much they are interested in the young people's votes

When you registered you probarly ticked a box saying your details could not be used for marketing. That is the most likely reason, you were not sent any post..

Only canvasser that came to our door was FF, so no he did not get my vote.

For that matter neither was I. It would just be interesting to know did anyone have their vote "managed" or actually decide on a candidate based on canvassing.

Three weeks in one of the most volatile constituencies in the country, Dublin South. Ok, I was out a lot and working some evenings, but in those 3 weeks just one canvasser called to my door.
