At 7pm this evening Irish legend Fergal O'Brien cues it up against Matthew Couch.
I expect Fergal's mental strenght to pull him through this encounter.

He's a good player but I wouldn't go as far as to call him an 'Irish Legend'!
If your looking for a legend, try Steve Davis v James Wattana, their match is at the same time.

Fergal O'Brien comprehensively beaten 5-2 im afraid. So many final hurdle blemishes.
Joe Swail looking like going down too at 2-4

On a good note Ken Doherty won his match 5-0.

Surprised he lost to Greene, a good player but i thought Fergal might have edged it, he's lost just too many matches this season to players ranked lower than him, he should end the season regardless of what happens in the World's in the top 40.
He needs a good start to the new season as the ranking list will again have three cut off points, the more he slides the more qualifying rounds he'll have to play.

After tonights win Ken provisionally moves up to 24th.
