This is what I heard talked about on radio just now - Labour will be wanting that.

I think we are in big trouble if that lunatic is minister of finance! We will have those w@nkers O'Connor and Begg's foaming at the mouth too at thought of having their labour buddies calling the financial shots.

I think I will try recall my votes if this happens:eek:

She doesn't have nice teeth to be smiling so much.
I'm sure she's happy but ffs she needs to cover her mouth if she can't stop smiling.

Please God no. I hope FG can get enough numbers so they don't have to give the smaller party significant positions.

What and you thing that gormless Michael Noonan will be any better? Burton is an accountant, Noonan is a school teacher - who's better for the position? Rory Quinn was Minister for Finance once.

Coalition will mean they will have to give Labour 5 or 6 ministries

Richard Bruton is the only logical choice for Minister of Finance.

That will depend on overall numbers but your probably right that if they do go in with Labour they will expect those numbers.

Yes he is the logical FG card for Finance but why isn't he spokesperson for Finance though? Just shows you how illogical FG are.

I agree although I think he damaged his chances prior to the election.

I see the Irish idea of democracy is absolutely up shit creek.

I'd accept Mario Rosenstock as Joan Burton but not the real Joan Burton. Shes like an annoying Worsel Gummage.

    Richard Burton...

    Sorry.. Bruton:D

It is likely to be Michael Noonan,Richard Bruton would make a fine finance minister(blew his chances with the calamitous failed leadership bid),Leo Varadkar as an outsider!Joan Burton is without doubt a smart lady but she has a really irritating, moaning voice.Like all the Labour party she is far too close to Jack o Connor,David Begg and the public sector unions!P.S. Before people jump down my throat I work in the public sector but the country is in a really bad place, time for tough decisions. Not a time for pandering to special interest groups and failing to reduce the deficit by 2014.Mind you I do remember Ruairi Quinn returning a budget surplus.Fine Gael can ill afford to give up finance in any coalition negotiations if they are 30-35 seats ahead of Labour.

she will be a great negotiator

Kenny should bite the bullet and make Richard Bruton minister for finance.
If he doesn't he will be making a very big mistake.

Of course the reality is that Kenny will never give Bruton the job, mainly because Kenny is an ignorant fcuker.
    Some things never change.

Please NO! Joan is like a human Vuvuzela!

    Noonan or Bruton for finance.

Why are people assuming that FG will jump into bed with Labour if they cant get an overall majority ?

If they come close enough to 83 seats they could cut a deal with one of the smaller parties or a group of independents or even attempt to rule as a minority government.

I'm seriously considering moving away now that it looks like Labour will be in government. If Burton is Minister for Finance then I'd definitely leave.

Hope all you poor socialists will enjoy all of the taxpayers leaving the country, putting this country in bigger shít than ever. :o

I'd rather have no humanity than no money.

If it's having no money that worries you you're in the wrong country no matter who is in charge for the next 20 years.

Like it makes a difference ffs. We are screwed whoever is in there.

Jesus... so month and months of all the anti-FF ramblings and waffle, get FG, Labour, Barney and Friends in....

And now... with the counts not even finished... already whinging at FG and Labour being in...

Give us a break, this is what ye all wanted. Live with it now.

Joan as minister for anything is scary. Her inability to address the public is scary. Bet she'll be communications for irony.

Would love Pearse as MoF, obviously not happening, but would be interesting.
