Having recently seen in the newspaper that the exchange rate for the Turkish Lira was 2.14 TL to the Euro I went in to the foreign exchange office on the corner of O'Connell and Henry St later that same day only to be "kindly" offered a rate of 2.00 TL to the Euro. They also charge commission on top of their own made up rate. Can anyone tell me where the best place in Dublin is to change money where the rates they charge actually resemble the official exchange rate as published in the media?
    Thanks.

    2.14 is the exchange rate.

'Buying' it from them and 'Selling' it to them will result in a different rate. You won't get 2.14 anywhere.

I understand you double GG, so my question really is where sells foreign currency at the most attractive rates then?In terms of their mark up as it were, or are they really all the same?

I've always found the place you are talking about to have the best exchange rate going, followed by may local credit union
