Post on another board said supplies are low, advised filling up if ya can..

Might be like the oil crisis in the 1970's, most garages would only give ya fivers worth of petrol..

Nope but the news on the local radio mentioned petrol and diesel prices to sky rocket by €0.03/litre over the next 24 hours. I thought it was going to go up about a tenner a litre when I heard shy rocket, had thrown €81 into the ZT an hour earlier, €144.9 which was 3 cent up on 10 days ago.

The media are hyping it up, the Daily Mail in the UK is still quoting price per gallon for shock effect.

Would the OP or anyone else who is in a state of panic like to post a link to a reputable news website which says that there is a supply problem with motor fuel in the UK or Ireland?

This attempt to stir up panic was attempted a few weeks ago when the trouble started in Tunisia and it proved to be completely unfounded.

I don't think anyone is in a state of panic to be honest, personally I couldn't give a fiddlers f***, I was only relaying what I heard on the news.

Saw a good size queue tonight - partly because it's a small forecourt, partly cos of the price - 139.9 for unleaded in Rourkes Cross filling station in Limerick....
Will be filling it here myself tomorrow I'd say...

a friend of mine owns a small filling station in galway and he orders on a Friday for Monday delivery he has told me both unleaded and diesel will be going up by around 3 cent next week and the company he orders from have told him to expect around a 10-20 cent rice in the next couple of weeks if the situation does not improve before then

And any mention of supply constraints? We know the price is going up.

Haven't the Saudis said they're upping production?? Now, if they start revolting against King Abdullah, we might have a issue

For the moment, relax the cacks!

I was down in Aghada tonight, which is en route to the refinery, and there was tankers going down the road every 3 minutes. I have never seen so many petrol tankers on that road in such a short space of time. Garages filling up at the old price and charging out at the new no doubt......

:eek:for unleaded, right now???? that's 15c cheaper per litre than average Raheen/Dooradoyle price, I'll be straight there in the morning with a jerry can in the boot;) If twas 15c off a pint a stout I know fellas that would walk there to save a couple of euro... but 15c a litre on a tank of petrol is a fair saving

Filled my car up last night - i think a lot of other people were doing the same, there was a queue of cars parked up and the line in the shop paying was mad. This was just after 8pm last night.

Price of diesel at the station I use jumped 2 cent in the last week

When prices go down the clowns buying the oil in will tell ya "ah sure we bulk buy 6 months in advance" ... Sone bull****! The topaz down my way was already 1.49, at least 5c dearer than most others and they got caught with the budget because they were always the same as others till just before the budget, trying to pull a fast one!! Jaysus they'll be well over 1.55 now this weekend.

There was a queue outside esso yesterday for me, thought it was just rush hour tbh but maybe it was a little to do with this!

That is their diesel price. They don't sell petrol, only diesel. Also I don't know where they source their diesel from as they are not franchised to any brand. All they have is diesel 2 pumps in the middle of a yard shared with a hackney firm. I would not take the chance to be honest when the Emo station about 1/2 km further in towards the city centre are selling diesel at only 1c per litre more.

For some reason the Applegreens on the M1 lowered their diesel prices from 139.8 to 136.8 yesterday.

This is the ones closer to Dundalk. The one close to Dublin were still 139.8
