Emmet Stagg 57 election posters in half a mile beside the polling station

Emmet stagg has 57 posters on church road in celbridge, church road is also where the school that houses the polling station, google maps says this stretch of road is 900 yards long. The only other candidate with a poster on this road is B Durkan with 4 posters.

He also has another 30+ on willow brook road going past tesco back up to the same polling station. He also has another 40 on oldtown road again leading up to the polling station. This total distance is 1.4 km.

Is this illegal.

Is it really necessary to have 120+ posters all with .7km of the polling station.

How many people will vote subliminally for stagg because of this

I agree that 57 posters in that short a distance is uncalled for, but I doubt that anybody will "subliminally" vote for Stagg because of the posters.

You'd have to wonder is it really a level playing field when you see this type of campaigning. I think it's very sinister in my own area of Dub SW. FG have delivered leaflets over recent days instructing people to vote Keane No. 1 and Hayes No. 2. They have huge posters around with "Important Notice" at top saying the same all in an effort to get that 2nd seat. How is that an important notice?

The only law is that there must be no posters or electioneering within 50 meters of the polling station.

I saw one canditate's van which had their image emblazed on in near the voting center, close enough to the 50m mark - would that come under the posters rule?

I know it sounds mad, but I had driven the road 3 days in a row and noticed every lamp post had 2 posters of his, on both sides of the road. I passed it with a mate of mine and he counted them.

He was everywhere. His posters every 30 feet almost imprint themselves on your retina.

I just did and can't believe my eyes!!! what the fcuk is going on in this country that we let twisted fcuks like this into positions of power and endless expenses!! so glad I'm getting out of here in a few weeks and I won't be hurrying back ever

If Stagg had been caught up in the phoenix park paying a teenage girl for sex then the media would have had crucified him. Because he was gay they dealt with the issue "sensitively".

I don't care who or what he shags once he is honest about, and not hiding behind an apron wearing wife and kids portraying himself as a family man.

BTW the posters were all taken down the next day, he has some operation.
