As long as it's not Brian Lenihan, the figures should be accurate.

Why has the Politics and the General Election forms turned into the conspiracy form today

There are loads of threads about open ballot boxes, dodgy characters at polling stations etc.

    Back on topic

OP, FF will not rig the counting of votes in this election, they would have to pay off thousands of people to do that.

The last time that a party of Eamon DeVelera's had a prolem with the will of the people they went and took up arms (Treaty vote 1922).
I doubt it will happen this time.

The counters are recruited by the Returning Officer and are usually Local Authority staff.

So your skeptical of the results because you have no idea how the election system works?

I'm skeptical of the lunar landing because I don't know how to build a rocket-ship...Shocking

Conspiracy theory forum is that way --->

It's usually the same staff who do every election. Once you're on the list you get offered the work.

Mostly council staff and there are election officers to oversee it all.

The last time someone really tried to rig an election (gerrymandering) went by the name of Tully and was a Labour Minister. Happily it backfired spectacularly.

What makes you think FF would rig an election  Christ

I reckon that the dominant focus by the media on each and every poll that is issued is a form of manipulation of the views asserted during the polls.

I know of no-one, other than my girlfriend, who was ever involved in a poll (1000 per 4 million) so chances are slim.
HOWEVER, I answered a phone poll questions from a pro-LABOUR anti-FIANNA FAIL position. This resulted in my getting a subsequent call a month later. The 3rd call two weeks afterwards resulted in my questioning the methodology of the survey where I was told that phone numbers were randomly selected. I believe that I was selected on the two subsequent occasions due to giving the correct pro-LABOUR anti- Fianna Fail answers.
My girlfriends survey involved a number of social-economic groups but purposefully excluded 18/25year old unemployed males. These are angry young men who have lost their jobs or have no job security and have little future other than the live register or emigration. NONE of them would be voting for the established parties and so they were exclude resulting in their views not being publicized. (if you are cynical of this attitude, must I remind you of ALL the other corruption in his state?)

The media has focused so strongly on each poll that the polls seem to affect the subsequent polls and we all end up believing the trends and some will vote that way

We should vote on how we feel personnlay and nut follow the trends set by subvert, sinister forces.

If you watch the television or actually visit a counting centre, you'll find a person from each major party keeping their own tally of the votes while the official counter takes them out and makes their own official count.

You'll see them disputing counts, checking and disputing possibly incorrect vote papers.

So if you're unhappy about the count you'll have to look elsewhere in the voting chain for a conspiracy theory.
