Monchichi monkeys.

    These were all the rage for five minuites in about 1985 or so.They were these toy monkeys that had a plastic banana that the owner could stick in their mouth.There were mini keyring versions as well.Anyone remember them?

    Ha ha! I do indeed......had two of these back in the day and loved dressing them up in allsorts of outfits!!:D I think I still have them in a box in the attic,lol!:o

    Wasn't a fan of them thought they looked a bit freaky.

    Then not long after the Magical Murphy Gorilla came out.

    Just did a search there. I don't remember them looking like that. Did they?

    I remember these too. Yeah, they did look like that! We had one at home that had a red and white striped muscle top and he made an ape/gorilla type noise when you squeezed his stomach! Not the most attractive looking toys ever!

    I had (maybe still have) a Magical Murphy, but his vest had red stripes. I thought he was dead cute.

    I call my daughter Monchichi sometimes as she looks the spit of one.
