8 mins by bike or 9-12 by car depending on lights

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,062 ✭✭✭Uriel.

about an hour on a bus - 2minutes walk from house and 2 mins walk from job. So not bad really.

Can drive it in about an hour as well... but bus is more cost effective and a hell of a lot less stressful.

15 mins if I drive legally.

7-8 mins the other 364 days of the year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,602 ✭✭✭Funkfield

    20 min walk
    20 min on Luas
    20 min walk

    x2 a day

    20 hours commute a week.

Averaging that out works out at 40 days a year spent on way to and from work.

    Jebus.

    ********************************

    EDIT: The above is incorrect.

2 Hours commute a day is 10 hours a week.

Works out at, you guessed it, 20 days a year commute time.

40 minute walk to and from college.
Pleasant enough walk all the same - and I use the time to get my podcast fix.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,178 ✭✭✭✭NothingMan

6 minute drive or 10 minute walk. You'd think I'd just walk wouldn't you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,256 ✭✭✭c0rk3r

    14.52km

    2mins walk to bus
    6mins waiting on bus
    2min walk to next bus
    5mins wait on bus
    30-40min bus journey
    10-15minute walk to work
10mins - additional time depending on days

    or

36-40min cycle ! usually cycle unless the weather is ridiculous

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,766 ✭✭✭squeakyduck

2 minute walk to the bus.
About 15-20 minute bus ride. 30 minutes if the traffic is heavy.
    3 minute walk.

    5 - 10 minute cycle x 2

    Thread needs a Poll!

20 min drive from balbriggan to airport.

Home at 4:30 every single day! I feel sorry for people i see leaving the train stations at 7ish in the evenings. I would hate a long commute to work.

I hour a day each way. Makes 2 hours. 5 days a week makes 10 hours of commuting, not 20.

You work in Anglo-Irish or the Dept of Finance? ;)

FWIW I work from home, so zero commute. :) Any meetings I have in Dublin I always have at 10.00 or later so I dont get caught up in traffic either.

    Happy days.

    Wickla-UCD
Morning 1hr (leave at 7.20 if i left any later it'd take well over an hour)
I tend to leave college as early as possible to miss the traffic so usually 40mins home.

During the midterm this week i'm getting in 40 mins handy, no traffic whatsoever! Can leave home at 8, extra 45 mins in bed!

Which begs the question during the rest of the year...

WHY THE F**K CAN'T LITTLE FIACHRA AND SORCHA GET THE BLOODY BUS TO SCHOOL LIKE EVERY OTHER CHILD IN THE COUNTRY??!!

    "Cummute":p

Anywhere between 40 mins and an hour each way depending on how lucky I am with buses/tubes
Beats the 90 minute each way commute of my last job after we got relocated!!!

    30 seconds working from home
40 minutes driving to head office

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 91 ✭✭hardcore

It takes me 8-10 mins to get to my workplace. I am currently renting and will continue to do so in an area that wont effect my commute time. I view this as an important part of my life, I dont want to spend an hour- 2hour of a commute every day which is an absolute waste. But if your living in Dublin I guess there is no option given the high cost of living within the M50.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

Thank god i live in the country, i couldn't live with anything longer than a 30 minute commute, at the moment i work pretty much from home so 0 minute commute for me, last few years it was about a 10 minute drive, thats it.

Used to be an 1-1.5 hour drive depending on traffic.

Now its a 10 minute ride on the underground or a nice work from home day. Sweet :)

6-10 min drive depending on if sloooooww drivers/lights :)

I could not commute anymore than 30 mins... impossible to get myself out of bed as it is!

45 minutes on the bus to the city centre, plus about 10-15 minutes walk after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,511 ✭✭✭saywhatyousee

20 mins walk or 30mins in a car

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,398 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Minimum of two hours each way...bout two and a half at the most.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,455 ✭✭✭davetherave

Currently on a work placement so only 8-10 minute walk :)

If in college then anywhere from 45 minutes to 120 minutes based on the combination of bus eireann/train/Dublin bus/luas I take and how bad traffic is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,627 ✭✭✭Lawrence1895

I'm cycling from Artane to Clanbrassil Street, depending on how packed the roads are, it takes between 30 and 40 minutes.

The distance is 3.8 miles, as far as I remember.
