Clutch squeaky

    When I press down on the clutch it squeaks. Any reason why.

    It's just metal on metal, probably the return spring on the clutch pedal. It happens on lots of cars, just get it into your local garage and they should be able to get some grease into the spot.

    Depends on if its a hydraulic clutch or a cable one and also where the squeeking is coming from but reasons would be a dry clutch pedal mount/pivot, lack of lubrication in the cable, dry/worn clutch fork/pivot, possibly even the pressure plate.

    its a punto. so don't know if its a hydraulic one. I can hear more when the window is open but not when moving. I oiled the spring inside the car yesterday with 3in 1 oil. i'v a feeling its the rubber seal or what ever its called its near the clutch pedal. clutch has been in the car since day one as far as i know.
