Goulash Disko, the new balkan, world and electronic sounds medley will kick off with the booty shaking on March 11th at the Twisted Pepper. Expect anything from balkan brass and gypsy punk to electro swing and bollywood funk, but make sure you bring your dancing shoes because we know nobody will be left standing still...

Entertaining your swinging behinds for the evening are:

Yabe Chan (Balkan Kolektiv, Croatia) 11:00-01:00

Considering she comes from Croatia, Yabe Chan bought her first midi controller and started DJing in the most unlikely place - Japan. After moving back home, she was "discovered" by local promoters Balkan Kolektiv, and has since been playing at parties in Croatia and the region. She is a big fan of anything bass, but as a born and bred Balkanian is no stranger to the regions eclectic music, and will start the ball rolling with more traditional sounds spiced up with the occasional heavy bassline - she likes to mix things up which is reflected in the meaning behind her name - yabai is Japanese slang that can be used for both something amazing and something awful -> which one it was, you tell us! :)

Bassberger Ben (Mr. Whippy Soundsystem, Galway) 01:00-03:00

Bassberger Ben is resident dj and promoter of Galway’s weekly one-stop shop for worldwide future funk and blazing dancefloor beats Club 0a2. Housed in the cosy confines of Club Arus na nGael, the club's join-the-dots musical philosophy and general disregard for the trends of mainstream club-land has earned Club 0a2 an enthusiastic and loyal international crowd. In recent times Ben’s genre-blurring eclecticism has seen him hold such diverse residencies as Saturday’s at Cork house music mecca The Pavilion, Galway’s Recipe collective’s drum ‘n’ bass parties, and Galway indie drinking pit The Róisin Dubh. He is equally at home spinning in the suave surroundings of The South William or rocking an outdoor festival block party with the Mr Whippy Soundsystem. His period as music presenter with RTE radio saw The Irish Times call him “the best music dj on RTE Raidió na Gaeltachta.” Ben’s visit to Goulash Disko will see him marry the irrepressible energy of Balkan Beats with heavy tropical rhythmatics, Kuduro, Baltimore breaks, and worldwide electronic music across the BASS spectrum to 'UP' the energy for the dancers!

To get into a Balkan mood, we will be serving rakija - the drink of the Balkans and homemade baklava's that will sweeten you up in order to have enough energy to destroy the dancefloor!

Sign up online to pay 10e, get a free rakija and free baklava (instead of paying 15eur at the door). Links to the form coming soon here and @ www.facebook.com/goulashdisko - visit us for future updates!

    OPA!
