    Hi Folks

Went to import a used truck (commercial vehicle €50 VRT), I work for a Main dealership, logged onto the web site and made an appointment, got it in 4 days, Great, on the morning of the appointment I am driving to the test centre when I get a phone call 20 minutes before my due time to say there computer system is down and they have to cancel my appointment, I am only 1 mile away so I continue anyway, get to the centre and spoke to the lad,
he say's: "sorry there is nothing I can do, did the not phone you to cancel your appointment" only 5 minutes ago
I say:what do you need to see on the vehicle,
he say's: "chassis number & mileage"
I say: grand sure I will show you these and leave the paperwork/money with you, when your system is back up you can register it and I will return and collect the paperwork,
he say's "I cant do that, I have no method of recording this information
I say: sure write them down on the envelope with my paperwork and I will leave it here with you.
He say's: "I am not allowed to keep the paperwork"
I say: give us as a call when your system is back up and I will come back in,
he say's: " sorry it does not work like that, you have to make a new appointment. , I left. phoned up and got a new appointment for 2 weeks time, asked to speek to the manager and got it 6 days, We have this vehicle sold and the new owner is waiting on it, this is a very poor system,
when the revenue imported the trucks for us in the last few years we did not even have to bring in a truck as they are all commercial and only €50
drop in the paperwork and that was it, no appointment necessary.

Talk about making things hard for people. Its totally their fault yet not prepared to even bend the rules a small bit.
