NCT - Re Test

    Hi All,

    Question - Car had nct and has to be retested on brakes only.....Heres my delemma Engine management light came on yesterday even....F**k just had cat. changed for test - car is running fine etc - if i take the bulb out will they notice when they start it. What to do?

    I'd advise against removing the LED as they will fail you if it doesn't come on when the key is turned in the ignition, what I would do...is remove the terminal from the battery for around about 60 seconds should clear the engine check light unless it's a serious on going issue (worth a try as it's free) in the long term though if you just had the cat replaced there's a high chance that your lambda sensor might need replacing (pretty cheap and easy job)

    The engine light on is not a fail in the nct.

    1. If it's just brake retest they are not going to check anything else.
    2. engine light is not a reason for fail.

    So don't worry about retest.

    But get it checked what's wrong with your engine, as warning light doesn't usually come on without a reason.

    I put my car through with the engine light and passed no problem,others on this forum have similar stories.

    If you don't trust us there's the NCT manual on NCT website.
    Go through it, and you will know that it's not a fail.

    PS. It's got something about 200 pages :D
