I'm trying to pick a netbook, but they're all blurring together and looking the same to me at the moment.

It's for typical netbook type usage, but would also like to be able to watch movies while travelling. It doesn't have to be spectacular sound or video quality, just not laggy etc. Battery life doesn't have to be amazing, but 6 hours+ would be good.

I'd like to buy from Amazon (as I have a voucher) and don't want to spend more than £250.

Here are some I picked, but can't make up my mind. Can anyone recommend any of these, or other netbooks?

Asus EeePC 1001PX - £219.99

HP 110-3111SA - £229.99

Acer Aspire One 533 LED Screen - £225.o6

Acer Aspire One D255 - £229.99

Samsung N220 - £239.99 <-- quite like this one

HP Mini 210-2003sa - £249.99

I don't like the lenovos they have for sale.

i would personally advise to go for an 11.6 inch screen with 1368x768 resolution. not going to make any real difference in portability but makes the netbook far more usable.

Thanks - they look like they're over budget though. I already have a couple of PCs at home, so this won't be my main machine.

well most netbooks have very standard components and there's not a lot of difference in the atom processors in terms of power. Asus tends to produce netbooks with the best battery life if that's important to you. otherwise pick from asus, samsung, toshiba - not a lot in it. Get windows 7 over xp and vista.

look at the review dates to figure out which netbooks are more recently released models.

I picked up a Packard Bell Dot S2 on ebay last week for € 180 - so far am loving it so you should consider that too - think PC World sell them. Wouldn't have even thought of PB but for seeing some very good reviews of this model online!

@g0g, I think that Packard Bell netbooks are rebranded Asus netbooks, so they're probably a lot more solid than back when they made their own ones. They look slick.
