a lot of bands hit the top 10 in the late 90s without selling a lot of records - it was a very weak time for the singles chart.

Embrace never had a proper big hit, one that crossed them over into the mainstream, got a lot a radio play like "Bittersweet Symphony" or "Why does it always rain on me" to use the example of 2 other bland 90s indie acts. It an exaggeration to say everyone liked them.

2 years before he released Parachutes with Coldplay?

Oh and Come Back to What You Know is utter bilge.

my mistake, it was "gravity" martin wrote..... still rubbish (even though I think Coldplay aren't bad)

Embrac were very good IMO. The guitarist was very sick for a while I remember but they kept plugging away.

Saw them in Chicago in 05 and had a few pints with them afterwards. Sound lads all except Danny who was off getting photos with every bird in the place. Couldn't blame him I guess.

I like most of their stuff, particularly Come Back To What You Know, Wonder, You're Not Alone and All You Good Good People.

Come back to what you know is the only song I know from them.

Got it off itunes earlier this week, like it a lot.
I couldn't name any of their other songs though
