    Hi,

Looking for a mechanic, preferably one with Mazda experience to take a look at a Mazda 6 either today or tomorrow in the South Dublin area.

Cars service history checks out and is low mileage so should be ok but just looking for some peace of mind.

If you know anyone in this area, please let me know.

    Cheers,

    D

    Tip: don't buy the diesel, 02 - 06 btw.

If it's the petrol one: fine, nice car.

I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Yeah, it's the petrol model alright and everything looks to be fine / drives fine but would just like a second opinion before purchasing.

Anyone any ideas of a good mechanic in the area to take a look at the car? Doesn't have to be a Mazda mechanic but would prefer one with some Mazda experience.

Ok, so I have found these two in the area. Does anyone have experience with either

CarsIreland.ie (Frank Fahey Centre - Naas Road) €100
    http://www.carsireland.ie/pre-sale-car-inspection-service-dublin.html?option_5_submit=More

    Check by qualified mechanic

Carcheck (Bernard) - Naas Road €165
250 point check by Insurance Assessor followed by written report

Has anyone got any experience of either of these companies?

Yeah, rang a main dealer around here to see if they would do a check on the car and was told that they would only do so with a full service which would be around €350. Not an amount I want to fork out if I am not sure I am even buying a car.

Strangely, a Skoda dealer (was looking at an Octavia) previously told me that he would do the check for €80. Feckin' Mazda dealers.....:D:D

yeah some dealers (ford mostly) wont do a check on a car they havent sold as they feel they may be held accountable if something major went wrong with the car id imagine.
toyota in killarney did one for me for 30 and ryan motors in tipp did it for 35ish. 100euro would be the most id spend really.ill ring joe duffy, msl and see what they say.
