xbmc, apple tv and external hd

    Wondering if its possible to have a wifi connected external HD stream to xbmc.
    Just looking for a way of streaming my DVDs.

    Very new to this so be gentle

    If you have a computer on the network, you can just plug the drive into it and share the contents via a file share or media streaming. How you go about doing that depends on the OS.

    If you don't want to use a computer, you can get NAS enclosures that do the same thing.

    One very important thing to consider is the speed of your network.

    i have a NAS drive that streams fine to 2 apple tvs (jailbroken with XBMC) over a 802.11N wifi network
