As you're all aware, the country is in a dire economic and political quagmire.

I am a solicitor by profession but I've become increasingly disillusioned with our political classes. The general election debates so far have failed to extend beyond the realm of personality and punch-and-judy politics and thus I would like to publish my own proposals for amending the situation.

I have written a brief manifesto which I have been posting extracts from on Facebook and Twitter. I am NOT a candidate in the forthcoming election. I do however want to stimulate intelligent discourse and would welcome any constructive feedback on my manifesto. I am making it available with a view to constituents taking some of the ideas they agree with to their local representatives. It's time the Irish people reclaimed Irish politics.
