    A friend of mine has just purchased a new IDTV and was asking me about putting up an aerial to get the digital channels.
    Which transmitter would he be closet to and would the aerial need to be amplified.?

    Amplifiers are to counteract the loss in the cable.

    It depends on length of cable.
