Why is the sound so SH** on the Late Late Show?

Anyone agree that the sound quality on the "flagship" programme is usually awful?

From single (instead of two separate) lapel mics being placed on the wrong side of interviewees (the volume drops when they turn their heads to converse with fellow guests), to the woefully flat sound of the "musical acts" its all fairly rough.

One example - De Danaan were on recently and the guitarist who was giving it welly (along with the other band members) simply could not be heard!!

yeah there's always issues on the show.. constantly issues with the guest's mics, and constantly noise in the background while they are speaking.. sounds like they are bringing in the gear, making sure to hit it off every step on the way..

Noticed it big time the last night when Ellie Goluding was performing.
