I'm heading off to thailand for 30 days at the end of june. I know there is loads to do and see but can anybody recommend specific areas / things to visit?? I was thinking of spending a few days in bangkok and then travel up north a bit and then maybe fly down to the lslands after that! Anyone done a similar route?

Also does anybody recommend good places to stay in bangkok???

    thanks!:D

Spend a few days in Bangkok then get out.

Spend 1-2 wks in Chiang Mai and visit the neighbouring towns - http://www.talesofasia.com/thailand-mhsloop.htm
    or 1stopchiangmai.com
lots to do i'm here a month now and its a good mix of authentic and tourist orientated and much cheaper than down south. Lots to do and courses to take.
Then relax on one of the islands down south for the last week or so. My advice would be to stay away from the bigger islands. On the east coast stay in Ko Tho or on the west coast stay on Phi PHi.

Am in Thailand right now, send me a PM and will reply with tips etc when I get back to Ireland in a few weeks.

    Prepare for a culture shock!

If you are going in June you would want to be getting your vaccinations in order pronto, as the Hepatitis B one takes 3 injections but you should have enough time. Get this sorted soon!

a couple of days in bangkok is plenty, then head up the north for a couple of weeks, then a beach break, phi phi is really nice.
