A friend of mine is looking for an e collar for his pointer, i have never used one so have no idea of make he should get etc

any advice

All depends what you want???
Range, Waterproof, stimulus settings i.e 1-20 setting of shock or 1-5, type of brand, price range? Is the collar for training or getting quirks out of the dog, pretty much match the collar to the dog and the type of environment he will be in

I just bought a collar last week:D, I wanted a collar that would stay on the dog threw everything i.e bogs, ditches, water, and pretty much "rough" shooting, so I purchased the Sportdog 800 but i was really tempted by the PAC collar but hadnt got the funds for it:mad:, Sportdog are highly regarded in the states as the all weather unit with a great warranty. There on ebay for little money compared to the £285 upwards:eek: which major sites are looking for here and in the UK. Also has bright orange collar so in the unlikely event of losing it, it will be well spotted.

It's the blue 1 on my pointer in the videos. Water proof great range & battery & the hand unit is v tidy.

wel gap.i purchased a petsafe 250m remote trainer from doggoodies.co.uk before crimbo,waterproof rechargeable the works.had a hare chasing springer& it cured the prob ina week.id highly recommend it anyway.shes an unreal hard hunter& twud be all heavy cover where we work& never had a problem with it catching on cover etc
