Finally upgraded to full HD TV. Wanting a cheap blu ray player. I don't care about the brand as long as it supports full HD.

    Any recommendations?

I got a PS3 mainly for the bluray ability, I got it for 250 a year or so ago which was just a bit more than a standard bluray player of similar quality (a PS3 is pretty decent). Now the PS3 is easily hacked so it is a very good buy, you can store you music or films on its internal HD and connect up an external drive and use it as a media centre if you have good speakers on the TV.

Obviously its not the cheapest bluray player but might be cheaper and neater to kill 2 birds with one stone if you have any interest in its other abilities. Mates of mine use the wireless connection to watch football through it on the big screen.

    I just bought this:
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-Electronics-BD550-Blu-Ray-Player/dp/B0048WQ38E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1298391959&sr=8-1

First impressions are very good. Has a USB port to hook up an external hard drives. I tried a few AVIs, an MKV and MP4 all which played and all looked well. Can't really go wrong for just over €80
