    Hello

I would like to purchase an automobile, I'm living on the continent, have about 10 grand max, second-hand, need something golf sized with 2 passenger doors, the dealer down to the road sells skoda, volkswagon and audi.. the car would have to handle been driven long distance from time to time too

I've been watching top gear since it came out hence I know absolutely zero about sensible cars.. as I said, something like a golf, cept for some reason I can't stand golfs. Any suggestions welcome (its going to be a golf isn't it)

    thankye kindly

ps, its gotta be as reliable as possible, which probably rules out Alpha Romeos

Buy a Toyota, great reliability, economical, a very honest product, consider a Yaris, Corolla, Auris, Avensis, maybe diesel.

Skoda Octavia = something like a golf but isn't one.

(It's built on the same platform, running gear, engines etc and shares a lot of it's parts. But, it has a bigger boot and seems to be more reliable)

Get a nissan micra 98-05 these babies are bullet proof. They just take all sorts of crap thrown at them. Minimal servicing. terrible driving. They take it in their stride.

Although i wouldnt be caught in one :)
