Hope someone can put me in touch with supplier of curved hay shed roof or similar.
I'm a builder and am pricing a small house extension where the roof is curved. the Engineer has specified a complicated structure with RSJs curved and roof panels specially curved. I am hoping I can find a manufacturer of agricultural buildings to supply a standard roof.

    Any advice much appreciated.

I cannot find any links to Hay sheds in Ireland on Google.

Duggan Steel in Kilkenny and Bandon can supply curved round roof sheeting. I've no idea how you'll manage to get curved RSJ's though!

Don't have drawings with me but radius is approx. 2m.
    I'm in Clare, near Killaloe.

I know I can get curved steel roof from most Co-ops or even rolled to curve, it's the supporting structure I'm hoping to get as standard or made by someone who specialises in curved hay shed roofs.

I've seen loads of old farm buildings with curved steel roofs but did not want to bother the local farmers by entering their yards with loads of questions.

if you contact newell roofing, they are just outside galway, if you give them the measurements the can work out the curve you need, will cut and curve sheeting to your spec and you can drive into yard and collect, very handy spot

Can't you run the RSJs (straight) the other way, like purlins?

2m is v tight, no farm buildings with such small spans - that implies a 4m span max., (where the roof curve does 180 degrees of the circle i.e. a half-barrel shape.
How many RSJs are spec'd? would love to see the drawings!

A bit away from you, but very helpful are Skyclad.

    Thanks for the advice.
Looked at Skyclad's web site, they look like a very capable company.

Shooting the Engineer isn't an option. I have often been in this situation where you need to suggest an alternative to an Engineer in such a way that you do not hurt there ego and ideally make it look like their idea.
