As this is the playstation forum and not the Console Modding forum some may not know that if you installed this and try to go online you're risking a permanent ban from PSN for your PS3.

Given that you couldn't install it on official firmware anyway, I gave the readers the benefit of the doubt to have the where-for-all to realise cfw & online don't mix. I don't see why the thread has to be turned into another debate about evil hackers Varik. It's simply here to show an N64 emu for the PS3.

What from that was about evil hackers, it was just about cfw & online not mixing and i don't think everyone knows that.

You cannot get on PSN unless on 3.56, you cannot install homebrew if on 3.56. There's no risk to anyone about getting banned here, which is why I don't see why this had to be turned into a firmware discussion.

If this derailment is going to continue, feel free to lock the thread mods :)

What from that was a firmware discussion or what was any of that about "evil hackers", you can only get onto PSN with 3.56 right now and even if that remains Sony have said they will ban if any unauthorised software that is on the PS3 some of which will remain or leave traces after updating.

Lock away mods, seems there's no discussion to be had.

I for one welcome this, i did play mario allstars all the way through on a custom firmware but I'm back now to proper firmware and PSN access.
Too much hard work to stay ahead of the game.

    Anyways thumbs up :D

I just figured it was post-worthy, I seen N64 emulation cropping up here once or twice. It's not released yet, but looks promising :)

Yeah think it might be safer to lock this, definitely a touchy subject for both sides of the debate!
