Ingrown Toenail

Toe has been tender or sore since Sunday, I'm hoping it's only a bit of bruising but have this nagging doubt it may be an ingrown toenail.

If so any idea how best for me to treat it to cure it and prevent a visit to the quack?

    Thanks in advance!

A trip to the chiropodist my friend and i'd strongly advice it before it gets worse.
It could cause an infection and you'd need the whole nail removed then.
    Book ASAP i think.
    Good Luck

I agree. Visit a doctor or chiropodist. Had a problem with an ingrown toenail a few years ago. Got a few infections, I was regularly limping (which has since caused a muscle imbalance in my leg). In the end I had to have 1/8th of my toenail from each side (1/4th of my toenail) removed. Even now I still get problems.

Go to a professional and get it sorted now. It might be an easy job for them to do, but it could prevent a difficult job in the future.

I've had bruising like this before and it goes away after a couple of days. The last thing I want to do is go visit a doc, spend 50 or 60 quid and he tells me it's just some bruising!

Are you not supposed to run it under warm water 3 or 4 times a day? I'm not even sure it is anything to do with my nail, it's just the worrier/pessimist in me!

Hi there. We cannot give medical advice here.Best bet is if you are in any doubt to go to your GP or a chiropidist. As someone that had an ingrown toenail when I was a kid,it is definitly something you do not want to let go.Thread locked.
