Why is it not possible to search this forum?

There's no 'search this forum' button on LGBT. When I used general search the list of forums skips from Legal Discussion to Military. Anyone any idea what that's about? The forum charter mentions nothing and, of course, I would've checked to see if this question came up before but...

Forums which have anonymous posting don't have a "search this forum" feature.

Is there a technical reason for this? I just don't understand how posts would be any less anonymous with the search function enabled. Anyway, it doesn't matter, since it's academic.

Because I don't want someone searching my username and it coming up in relation to a topic, or if I was posting anonymously someone typing in 'teenager'. If they knew me they would immediately recognize which thread was me. If there is no search function, you can't track people down.

If you log out you can search

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
