Well lads,
Hosting a big darts tournament here in Waterford on the 14th/15th May in Treacy's Hotel. A thousand Euro guaranteed for the winner with 500 for second and 200 each for the beaten semi finalists. It is an open singles event open to all standard of players. The event will start on Saturday 15th May where we will play down to the last 16.

The round of last 16 through to the final will then take place on the Sunday 16th May.

The entry fee will be Twenty euros and we are now beginning to accept entries and enquiries at the hotel on 051-877222.

The Hotel has also offered special accomodation rates of 89e pps for a two night stay on a B&B Basis or 109e pps for three nights B&B. This also includes complimentary use of the leisure centre and gym and also includes free parking.

Both Maria and Anton are keeping well, Maria is currently the hotel manager in Waterford.

Not trying to put the idea down of new darts comps, but the idea of a 2 day event isnt a good 1. times are hard enough without having to stay over night for 1 singles event, maybe if you took a spin down to the silver springs hotel this weekend coming and seen how things shud be done, with 2 singles and a doubles, proper set up, proper praze money and we aint left hanging around...

They do say learn from the best.

The Leeside Darts Festival will be held on the weekend of February 26th./27th. at the Silver Springs Moran Hotel, Tivoli, Cork City, and it will incorporate Round Three of the 2011 Ireland Players' Championship.

The programme of events is as follows :-

Saturday 12 noon:
Round Three Ireland Men's, Ladies' and Youths' Championships.
Closing date for Men's event - - February 23rd.
Ladies' and Youths' entries will be accepted at the venue at 12.30pm.

Saturday 8.00pm:
Men's and Ladies' Doubles competitions - entries at 7.00pm.
Entry fee - €10 per pair.
Prize money - Money in Money out plus €300 each event.

Sunday 12 noon:
Men's Open Singles - - closing date February 23rd.
Entry fee - €15 per player.
Prize money - Winner €1,200 ; Runner-up €600 ; S/finalists 2 x €250 ;Q/finalists 4 x €125 ; 9th. to 16th. 8 x €50

Ladies' Open Singles - - entries at 12noon on the day.
Entry fee - €10 per player
Prize money - Winner €400 ; Runner-up €200 ; S/finalists 2 x €100 ; Q/finalists 4 x €50

Youths' Under-18 Singles - entries at 12noon on the day
Entry fee - €10 per player
Prize money - Winner €200 ; Runner-up €100 ; S/finalists 2 x €50 ; Q/finalists 4 x €25. Plus medals for last eight players.

Special accommodation rates are available at the hotel on the weekend - early booking is advisable.
