Any of you guys qualify or know who qualified from your counties for the finals in Mullingar. Fluked my way through Mayo yesterday and just wondering what I'll be facing in the finals.

I know from Mayo its myself and Jason McGann and from Galway it was John Boisclair and Tom McDonagh. Any other results?

Heard nothing down here yet mate but I wouldn't be suprised. Our county finals were organised last minute and there was some huge ****ups with getting names in. Nothing to do with the venue where it was run, but 3 times we had to apply before the VFI actually got it and than when we sent in results it was missing. The lads that ran Mayo finals had to do it last minute as someone in VFI or INDO dropped the ball somewhere.

I was talking to someone in the VFI this evening and there is one county to play off and thats happening this weekend so it looks like its all systems go on the 6th march.

Check-in on the day is from 10.30 am ( I think its The Mullingar Park Hotel) I will find out for definate over the next few days.

I am looking forward to this and it will be great to meet up with people that I haven't seen for a while.

Here is a link to the pubs that took part.

Anybody from around the Mullingar area know a decent priced b&b close to the hotel. Due to car trouble looks like I'll be arriving in style via bus eireann.

yep Kerry beat Donegal 6-1 in the Doubles &

Dave Byrne, Kildare beat Sean Magowan, Sligo 6-5 in the singles

Dave was 5-2 up, won the last leg with 15darts

Some great games there. Didn't stay for long as I was beat early and had to head back for Mayo trials (which was a bad idea). Lost my own game 3-2 to Mark something from Roscommon. Tall fella good thrower. Played very well first 4 legs but as usual fell apart when it came to crossing the line.

Marked Martin Mc Closkeys first game and he was on fire, suprised he didn't make the final. Also saw a belter of a game between Jason Cullen of Wexford and John Boisclair of Mayo. 2-2, Jason wires the bull from 161 for a 12 darter and John checks out 96 in 3 after scores of 125,140,140.

Very high standard and the competition was very, very well run. No dodgy boards or wobbly stands. Really enjoyable and hopefully gets a few heading back to INDO games. Really seem to have upped there game a bit for this season.

Is Dave Byrne, DaveB off this forum?

Played myself yesterday, only complaints I would have is that players traveled a long way for a structure of 5 x 501, until Quarter finals
11 o clock start and 8 boards plenty of time to give players at least 7 x 501 to start with and probably should have been 9 legs of 501
There was no prize money for winning your county, which I thought was strange especially in these harsh times and considering the funds that were pumped in to this competition some monies could have been taken off the top, A trip to the metropolis of Mullingar from anywhere in Ireland costs money, and because of the early start a lot of people had to go there the night before.
The prize money was very top heavy with €125 for last 16 and €5000 for winner it was structured like a poker competition.

Other then that a lot of high class players played some great darts even if it was like speed darting.
congrats to the winners see you all next year hopefully

Hope the VFI continue with there sponsorship its great to see a new group getting involved in darts

If this is what all indo events will be run like things are looking up, u know me padr im a big critic of things and from the few reports that have come back from this event it wud seem things are changing for the better.

    Well played for qualifying.

I would have to agree lads, the whole set up was fantastic, great boards, good stands and lighting and a fantastic mini stage for the final, the venue was brillant with plenty room for a large crowd, lets hope this is the start of something new for the INDO.

David Byrne really impressed me, he threw steady darts all day and a deserved win against an in-form Sean mcgowen.

I think this is the biggest prize for a singles tournament in this country ever and congrats to the VFI for getting this off the ground ,I think its going to grow from here, well done to everyone who took part and the standard was brillant all day. It was great to meet up with a few old pals that I haven't seen for a long time ;).

No point thinking something Mick and not saying it :D:D:D Iv yet to be accused of that, and i think anything i have said in the past even some of the officials wud agree with, iv spoke to 2 officials recently and it wud seem the wind of change is blowing loudly thru the walls of the INDO which is only a good thing for all Irish players.

Have to say Dicie even you'd of being impressed. Didn't hear a complaint all day. And no sitting around. It was pretty much play your game and either mark or have 10 minutes before playing again. Hope its not just the WC thats bringing about this INDO improvement but with Trobolgan and its huge prize fund as well its looking like a good year for them.

Mick do you know who yer man I played was. Mick or Mark something or other (not you though.) Tall fella, in his 40's. Very good player. Think I saw him with a county shirt in castlebar.
