Wasn't sure if I should've started a new thread for discussion of this since this is really a preview thread but anyways. Add a poll there someone.

I thought that episode was excellent.
Maybe it's not Walter's fault the universe is cracking apart at all! He just crossed over to save the other version of Peter with the intention of sending him back. (I'm not sure how this sticks with previous episodes but I'm gonna presume he was telling his wife his true intentions in this ep.)

In Walternate's attempts to get Peter back he destroys the fabric between the universes, nice twist that I hadn't really considered. Was Fringe devision set up the next day I wonder.

Has it ever been explained how Peter and Olivia don't remember each other from back then?
Also, the kid playing Olivia was quite good at mimicking Olivia's way of speaking and acting I thought.

Excellent acting from Orla Brady...nice to see one of our own on tv, Walter was fantastic as well. It wasn't action packed but it was an excellent character study. The issue of Olivia not remembering Walter hasen't been addressed by the writers, as yet. But i can buy Peter and Olivia not remembering meeting each other.

Excellent editing as well, loved how Olivia crossed over and met Walternate, as such him finding out about the other universe, i'd say Fringe devision was setup pretty sharpish after this, the tech over there evolved quicker since like post war America nesscesity was the mother of invention.

Love Love Loved this episode. Delighted to see the 80s credits back again! Also thought that the actress playing young olivia was extremely believable even the way she spoke was remarkably similar. Cannot wait to see how this season pans out now. I swear I will be livid if we dont get a season 4. Fringe is seriously the best show on tv-Hands Down!

A good episode indeed. Loved the 80s settings, the toy shop, big video cameras and betamax, but scenes between Walter and Olivia were really good. You could nearly base an entire series on that lab room and relationship as depicted.

A really good episode. A nice follow-up to 2x15 from last season. But I have much the same issues with it that I had with that episode. The writers have gone too far out of their way to make Walter's taking of Peter as sympathetic as possible. The earlier impressions of this story which suggested that Walter had snatched Peter out his bed in the middle of the night in a fit of grief and despair and selfishly kept him was much darker and more interesting imo. Now we've found out that not only did Walter have reasons for what he did, he also tried to send Peter back. They've almost completely absolved Walter of any guilt in the matter.

I got the feeling that once young Peter accepted who he was and that these were in fact his parents, his mother has a change of heart and cannot let him go. It does look like Walter had every intention of sending him back and maybe swayed by his wife - this decision may have caused her future problems.

I rewatched it again on Hulu and I love the little details that I didn't pick up on the first time round.
When Peter's playing with his plane he requests permission to dock at the building rather than land.
Also, there's a picture of the periodic table and it has way more elements than we had discovered in 1985. I didn't notice this one but read it on some website and looked for it on second viewing.
I'm sure there's way more little things that I missed too.

another excellent episode, id say theres a lot more story yet to be told from the 70s and 80s, especially how olivia didnt remeber peter or walter, and how peter eventually become who he is, i never liked that they moved off the subject of who peter really was at the start, they went back to his childhood but totally skipped what exactly he done in iraq and other places, he came across as a sort of con-man in season 1, and as soon as we saw his grave they totally stopped the con-man storyline,

still the childhood story is good, i would just like it expanded upon in season 6:D,

also olivia, it would be interesting to know how see came to be in the FBI, and how walter talking to her stepfather effected her life thereafter, but i feel after this episode walter more or less ceased his experiments with cortexifan, and probably with children altogether, thus leaving peter stranded over here,

so much more you wanna know after that episode

*edit* any chance a mod could add a poll

    Nope, next week.

I was so disappointed on Saturday when I got up to a complete lack of Fringe, I thought my er... tv had stopped working :(

Have to say that was one of the most boring tedious episodes ever. It could of been completely glossed over and remained one of those dvd/blu ray special episodes that only the hardest of hc fans would want to see.
