Shots for South Africa

    <Not a request for medical advice>
    Hi there, thanks to advice received on this forum a year and a half ago, my family and I have booked our dream holiday in South Africa in late April. We are landing in Cape Town, sticking around for a few days (and running the Two Oceans ultra marathon), then down to Hermanus, for two nights. Up to Prince Albert in the Karoo for two nights, then down to Knysna for a few days, before finally heading to the Addo elephant Park, for the remainder of our holiday.

    So we are sticking firmly to the Garden Route, and staying in non-malarial areas. Myself, wife and two kids: 10 and 16.

    So the question is: how do we determine what shots are needed? We are staying entirely on the tourist route and not straying into malarial areas, so we're going to avoid anti-malarial medicines, but is there a definitive (realistic) resource that tells you what you need?

    I'm booked in with my GP next week, and will take medical advice from them (but I'm not certain about their expertise in such matters), so is there somewhere else to get a realistic picture?

    Thanks. Actually got it done and dusted this morning. The GP's nurse actually has access to an online repository for such information (probably from the same feed as the Tropical Medical Bureau), so got My Hep A, Typhoid and Tetanus shots, with a booster in the next 6 months.
