    Evening all!

I've been offered a 01 Bora for a very cheap price, obviously there was something wrong with it so it has no NCT which I expected but he also said the Engine Check light is on!

Now I'm a bit clueless when it comes to cars so what would you guys recommend is my best move? I dont have the money to get anything major fixed on the car! What are peoples experiences with engine check lights?

If i'm missing any info just let me know!

    Thanks!

The engine check light could mean one (or more) of many things. The cost to fix could be anything from zero to thousands.

You could be getting a bargain but then again you could be sold an expensive pup.

You can roll the dice or you could look around for another car.

    Personally, I'd look elsewhere.

Not trying to be smart here but....the car is cheap and has you interested perhaps because of that, but by your own admission a big issue is something you can't afford to fix. On that basis you should avoid unless you are prepared to get your fingers burnt.
