Mass Effect 2 save file corruption

    Gutted. Just started playing through mass effect 2. Bout 11hrs in, turned it off for the night-back on this morning to find my save file gone.....did some rooting and saw that the files were corrupt! Checked online to see if others have had the same problem, turns out they have. Anyone know if I can do anything through recover mode to fix the files? I've played through the game already on Xbox so if I can't I'm trading it in. By right I should get my ****ing money back though. Anyone help?Bioware talked about a patch but im not hopeful.

    Happened to me after 21hours just as i was about to turn it off for the night, froze on the loading screen between levels.

    After waiting for around 2 weeks for the patch I just went to Argos and bought a USB stick for E8 and backed it up every hour or so.

    Didn't check up on the patch since I finished it, so it's STILL not out? :eek:.... thank god I didn't wait for it, that would have been 4 weeks anyway.

    Was in Xtravision last week and noticed 4/5 copies(which is a lot for a month old game) in the pre owned section..... wouldn't be surprised if that was all to do with the corruption.

    It will hit them financially, every second hand copy adds up to less new sales... they've only themselves to blame, the biggest howler in years, at least when Fallout crashed you knew it was just a small inconvenience.

    Its a real disgrace, I love bioware but who ever is doing the ports for them needs their marching orders. Not Cool!!!!

    I brought it back. Gutted.

    There was a patch released today, it had some new trophies to do with the DLC as well as this.

    -Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.

    -Slightly improved load times and level streaming.

    -Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.

    -Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)

    -Fixed the picture frame in Shepard's Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.

    -Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard's Cabin.
