    Hey lads,
I've recently started looking at Blaxploitation movies as I'm not familiar with the genre, but after watching Jackie Brown again i was interested in it.
I've seen a few great movies on youtube (The Black Godfather and Across 110th street are 2 of my favourites),but I'm wondering are these available at all in a brick and mortar shop in Ireland or will I have to resort to tinterweb?
    Cheers

Well I have these titles on DVD and they were each under a tenner. Try Tower Records. Also have Blacula which is a '70s blax-version of Dracula! Superfly is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_atisM-00XE

a important film for Black cinema but its pretty bad. check out Sweetassss a film made by Mario van peebles who's father made this, about the making of the film. A masterpiece and far better then the film itself.

+1 second this. Or at the very least watch Sweetasss first as Sweet Sweetbacks Baaaad Asssss Song is a pretty weak film when watched now but when put in context shown in Sweetass [reactions of the audience in the cinemas etc etc] it gives a better understanding of it's place in Black Cinema.
