Pighead is generally a fan of suffixes but this whole 'gate' phenomomonomomomon sensation has gotten way out of hand in recent years.

The gate suffix used to be used exclusively for massively controversial incidents or big scandals but in recent years you can't fart without some spanner dubbing it "Fartgate".

Pighead has no problem with the major scandals of modern years (eg Bumsexgate, Degsy V Savagegate, DJ Spidergate) using the gate but when people start reminiscing over Sachsgate (Ross and Brand leaving racy messages on Manuels answering machine about his granddaughter) Ketchupgate (Controversy during the Reagan administration about a proposal that would have reclassified ketchup as a vegetable.)and Biscuitgate (Gordon Browns refusal to divulge what his favourite type of biscuit was) that's when this posters ears start to steam.

This is a genuine grievance of Pighead's but he has absolutely no problem admitting that the thread is mainly borne out of frustration at the situatin he currently finds himself in ie watching the late late show on a Friday night. You're better than this Pighead.

or 'jumpergate' over the christmas toy show.Adding a 'gate' to the end of a word does not make it suddenly newsworthy, i hate it.

Very good squod! Still hate them though. Yeah these gates should be pulled off their hinges and left to rust in the bin marked "Rubbish stories don't need gates"

I'm going to start vomiting with frustration at this bullsh*t.

Lazy, Lazy journalism. "Watergate" was the name of the F*CKING building, it does NOT make ANY sense to add "gate," to ANYTHING.

    Rage vom commences.

If there was, Pighead's in grave danger of spawning a "Repeatgate" scandal. That's the last thing a man who hates gates needs. Creating the very thing that you hate. That's gotta be ironic in an Alanis Morrissette kinda way. What was the consensus of the last gate thread Senna? Where they haters too? Must have been. Who in their right mind could be a fan.

Beersgate is only 3 weeks away. A scandal will brew when a balding midget who attends the AH beers tries to make inappropiate advances towards everyone, before ruining every photograph taken on the evening by insisting in appearing in all of them.

I was only thinking about this recently and its been driving me nuts. Also since we're talking about watergate does anyone else think "Deep Throat" is the worst code name a person could possibly think of?

What will they call it if there's another scandal at the Watergate complex?

This post will forever more be known as "Serngate" in remembrance of the time Pighead jumbled up the letters in Sergeant's name.

They're so stupid that it will be: Watergategate.

I don't know who "they" are, but I hate them.

    No, that would be 9/11

E.G. Daily Mail: "Drunk Driver 9/11'd Elderly Cyclist."
