Didn't he make some unsavoury comment about the Irish a few years ago. I can't remember exactly what it was but he was probably on the heroin then so he might use that as an excuse.

I think that he attributed that little outburst to Rangers V Celtic rivalry. He's a huge Rangers fan. I'm looking forward to seeing Norris tonight and maybe the Behavioural Psychologist but I might be channel hopping for the rest.

Pity its not Tubs interviewing Pellow and asking him about his Irish connections:D

I'm so looking forward to the David Norris interview, he is a fabulously flamboyant character. He is just what the stuffy Arás needs. If he gets the nomination, I'll definitely vote for him.

So here is my dream team folks - David Norris, President and Francis Brennan, First Lady,..... em sorry, I mean Vice President......

    Nice Monologue.

Thought Sil Fox had passed away.

I don't like this lady very much :( She is another version of Trinny and Susannah. There is no need to humiliate people and erode their self esteem.

Norris has gotten all the publicity regarding the Presidency so far.

Maybe Brendan "Loike" O'Connor will ask himif he still thinks Ireland should be in the British Commonwealth and subservient to Britain or that the 1916 martyrs were terrorists for questioning Britsh occupation?

Seeing as the host writes for the Sindo, probably not.

Hey, we have lost our sovereignty to the IMF so the British Commonwealth is the least of our worries :D

I agree with you, she does talk at lot of sense but I don't like the way she humiliates people. It is a bit like Trinny & Susannah and Gok Wan. Gok Wan could do the same job as the girls but he increases peoples self worth instead of criticising them.

She is in her 40's. I think women are supposed to carry more weight so I doubt it's an unhealthy amount of weight.

I'm in the Nigella camp, who wants to be Gillian McKeith or Dr. Eva

It's kind of ridiculous that RTE goes to ridiculous lengths of naming every bloody candidate in every constituency any time ONE of them is on a panel show... And then goes and a) lets Barry Andrews appear in a positive light on his brother's (popular and trendy) TV Show and b) brings on this guy to give a subjective analysis of the leader's debate..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

That probably got FG a few more votes ;)

I thought it was TV3 that did the naming thing but I agree with you. The last segment felt like a party political broadcast on behalf of Enda Kenny and Fine Gael :(

I like the way Brendan re-asks a question when the guest has clearly avoided it.

I think it was brought in by the BCC.. Mary Wilson was talking about the Wicklow candidates, and had to name all 25 of them.. She even split them up in to groups rather than name them all at once and have everybody switch to Newstalk..

I met David once. An absolute gent. He's the same off TV as on.

"We bussed them in from The George" ... good one Brendan.. :D

How would he feel about meeting the heads of muslim states as a homosexual ? Would he even be allowed to go to Iraq/Iran etc etc?

That is a joke. I think that RTE still have nightmares over the Anti D injection/Bridget McCole mini series which they showed in 2002 just before the election and which seriously damaged Michael Noonan.

Well homosexuality is illegal so technically he wouldn't be able to enter those countries. Good point Johno.

I agree with Brendan 100% about the ABSOLUTE WAFFLE that both Robinson and McAleese came out with .. predictable "we are a great people/we must pull together/we must build bridges" ... all of their speeches were generic, anachronistic rubbish..

The country is finally gone crackers! Fine gael going to be in power we are broke, and the next president is a west brit! banana republic!

I also have had the pleasure of meeting David on a number of occasions and I agree with Fred Funk, he is a gent. I really admire the courage he displayed during his legal challenge.

I'm a big fan of the red wine diet, I'm so surprised that Dr. Eva hasn't mentioned it.

Many studies investigated the benefits of red wine suggested that moderate amount of red wine lowers the risk of heart attack for people in middle age by ~ 30 to 50 percent. Other studies also indicated that red wine can raise HDL cholesterol (the Good cholesterol) and prevent LDL cholesterol (the Bad cholesterol) from forming. Red wine may help prevent blood clots and reduce the blood vessel damage caused by fat deposits. Indeed, studies showed that people from the Mediterranean region who regularly drank red wine have lower risks of heart disease.

I believe it is so important to practise what you preach so I'm making a start now

I think David is shooting himself in the foot here.. "It's my time.. "... "I wont be giving all of the money back to the Government".. Irish people dont like sense of entitlement, and David is speaking as if he has won it already..

I honestly didn't hear it like that. Brendan was asking him a lot of question about what he would do/be like if he was president.

"What are you, a puff?"

People are far too PC. How is the word 'puff' derogatory?
