Need travel speakers for my Ipod, undecided whether to get the Alba or get this-
    http://www.thehut.com/electronics/ipod-accessories/x-mi-x-mini-ii-2nd-generation-capsule-ipod/-mp3-speaker/10059818.html

Alba is cheaper, seems to have better speakers, but not as portable as the X mini II.Anyone got recommendations.Would the Alba take up much more room?

Is this compatible with the iPhone 4 (incl. charging it)? Could use a cheap speaker I could drag around the house.

Anyone know how loud this speaker is? Would it be able to be heard in a busy factory for example?

Thanks for your help on this... i'm finding it very difficult to find a tidy sized speaker for work without spending a fortune.

I only picked up 1 so there should be 1 left now, reservation number is 148922.

Even though i picked up just the 1 2hrs ago they have just this minute sent me a reminder text to pick item up by 18:00 so i guess if ya quote that number you'll get it.

Great speaker system, gonna be very handy when travelling (hotel rooms etc) as pretty light.

Sound quality is very good and goes quite loud :D

I have the X mini II - great piece of kit. As you say, it's very portable and has impressive sound considering it's size. You can also "daisychain" them together if you hve more than one, which I don't!
The fact that it's usb-rechargable and doesn't require batteries is a big plus as well....
Anyway, I have reserved one of the Alba ones, ready for collection next week, so I can properly compare them then!

There are a few of these on the shelves in Dundrum. Priced at €24 though. Walk into the store, take a right. They are in the lefthand side opposite a window. In the lower shelf labeled "Clearance".

If so please PM me the code and receive my eternal gratitude

Does anyone know the size of these.

It is loud enough. Depends On the type of noise. For a tenner you cannot go wrong though

I would say just by looking at the size of the unit no. I used to work in a factory, I tried many different type of radios to get some music while we worked but we didn't have much success unless you were directly under the speaker. Argos and Aldi (when the special is on) sell a unit with rechargeable speakers. This could be the job for you, the speakers are a bit bigger than a tennis ball and have no wires.

Just a heads up to people.

There is 2 of these left in Argos Blanchardstown (The Shopping Centre one)

Was in earlier and picked one up. They are both on the shelf behind the desk where you collect items.

Also I did reserve one for collection in Stephens Green, won't be needing it now but if anyone wants the reservation code pm me. It needs to be collected by close of business tomorrow (Monday)

    Excellent device....recommend it.

Again to repeat, there were a few of these on the shelves in Dundrum.

I am falling in love with Argos.

Just tried it out and the speakers are so buzzy and distorted as to be unlistenable, even at low volume. Going by the other comments though I'm guessing I just got a dud one.

Mine are a little bit buzzy! Nothing too major I think. Just tried it the once.

That was good of her. I dont think they have to though. on the phone reservation system it quotes todays price and then tells you that the price you pay is the price in store on the day.

Never knew that, looks like I really did get a bargain!
