    Form of protest I suppose, but in the end does anyone care if you spoil your vote? Still I suppose it gives the person who spoils their vote some measure of comfort if that is their desire.

    No it's not. Assuming spoiling your ballot has an impact on the thought process of those elected (because you increase that statistic) that impact will be negligible. Maybe that negligible impact is worth it to you, but I don't think it's worth the 20+ minute walk to the ballot box. It almost certainly won't have an impact that benefits more than having 20 minutes extra of spare time. Which is long enough to have a w**k.
