Measuring Up!

    I'm hiring a suit for a wedding.
The shop is in Kerry but I'm in Dublin.
Can I just call into a shop in Dublin, get measured up & send info to Kerry?
Would it cost a few quid?
Would I be told to get lost?

Unless you eat a tonne and put on weight between now and hiring I see no problem in going in to get measured and sending them on to Kerry later.

As for the cost - I'd say you'd be looking at a small fee for the service.

Alternatively, if you need to save cash, go into Dunnes or some menswear shop like that, grab a few jackets, shirts and trousers off the rails and try them on. Whichever ones fit best, take a note of the size and put them back on the rails :)

I'd like to do it properly. I'd be willing to pay a tenner max. Anyone know a place that would do do this?

Just go to a reputable shop such as Louis Copeland etc, tell them the story and they'll happily measure you up....you'll need a shirt- you might find one in that shop too...it's no big deal...it's not like your buying the suit...you're renting it so you're not exactly taking away from their business.....if you still feel you need to buy something, most mens shops have relatively inexpensive cufflings...buy a pair of them...you'll always have them and you'll probably need them for the wedding suit anyway...

    Moved from tGC.
You will probably get better information here OP.

    Sorted.
Called into Blacktie on Bagott St.
The guy in there did the job without hesitation & wouldn't charge me.
Gave him a fiver tip for his trouble.
Next time I have to rent a suit in Dublin, I know where I'll call.
