oiler in slurry tanker

    Alright lads,
You might have remembered i posted before asking about changing vanes in a slurry pump. Got that done but now Ive another question someone might be able to help me with!!

I removed the oiler to check that the key was in properly (key that drives the oiler) and everything is ok so screwed oiler back in!

Anyways vanes are working fine but Im worried that the oiler is not lubricating the pump. If I have the pump spinning on pto i can see some oil going up on the lines a certain distance but it doesnt seem to be going the full way.

I rang abbey and they told me theres no need to prime it or anything. There is a screw for adjusting the oiler to increase/decrease the drop rate.

Has anyone any advice on this?

    Thanks for the help!

it should be fine increase the rate for a while, adjuster is on top of small glass on pump.check exhaust for oil. one time a fella worked on a farm before me put new vanes into a pump when i was using the tank it got mad hot so i opened it and found that he didnt know where the key was ment to go so he just stuck inside the cover and put it back together

As beretta already asked is there oil in the tank? Sounds like it's out of oil.

No theres oil in it alright. The gasket thats around the cooler looks a little worn in 1 spot but this would hardly have anything to do with it.

Maybe i should leave it running for longer just to see if its ok..but im afraid i'll do damage:eek:
