Restoring Backup on repaired Desire

    Hopefully someone can help with this. I've just received my desire back from repair (motherboard replaced) and want to install the backup that I made before I sent the handset away for repair. I have looked through the threads and some say you can't restore your backup if your IMEI has changed (which mine has due to the motherboard being replaced) and others say they have. Can anyone advise if they have done this? Also, can anyone advise how you run a backup anyway, is it:

    1. Turn off the handset;
    2. Hold down the volume down button and turn the handset on;
    3. Select "Recovery" from the options listed.

    Any advice/suggestions would be really appreciated.

    How did you back it up?

    With mine it was rooted and I used nandroid to take an image of the entire phone, un-rooted for repair, then re-rooted and restored when I got it back.

    Think I just did backup from within normal HTC ROM settings. All Apps etc are on SD card, can they simply be pulled back or do I need to delete and reinstall?

    Didn't realise there was a backup option on the phone... what restore options does it give you?
